Greyhaven beneath the mountain at dawn

Fair play, clearly written

Server Rules

These rules protect the players, economy, competitive integrity, and long-term health of Greyhaven.

The essentials

Four rules worth knowing first.

01

Play it yourself

No cheats, bots, unattended automation, or unfair client tools.

02

One active adventurer

Extra accounts belong in capitals or approved summoning services, not normal world gameplay.

03

Keep money out

No real-money trading, account sales, paid progression, or laundering purchased gold.

04

Report exploits privately

Open a Discord ticket. Do not demonstrate serious exploits or publish reproduction steps.

Rule 1Introduction

Greyhaven aims to provide a fair, competitive, and welcoming Vanilla experience.

These rules apply to all Greyhaven services, including:

  • The game server
  • The Greyhaven website
  • The Greyhaven Discord
  • Support tickets
  • Public and private communication involving Greyhaven services

By creating an account or playing on Greyhaven, you agree to follow these rules.

Not knowing a rule does not excuse breaking it. The examples listed throughout these rules are illustrative and not exhaustive. Conduct that achieves the same prohibited result through a different method may be treated in the same way.

Greyhaven staff may take action against behaviour that is clearly harmful to the server, its economy, its competitive integrity, or its players, even when the exact method is not specifically listed.

These rules may be updated when new features, exploits, clients, addons, or forms of abuse appear. Significant changes will be announced publicly.

Rule 2Cheating, Hacking and Automation

2.1 Cheating and Hacking

Any tool, client modification, program, script, driver, or external device that provides an unfair gameplay or competitive advantage is forbidden.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Speed hacking
  • Teleporting
  • Fly hacking
  • Walking through walls, doors, terrain, or locked objects
  • Removing or changing collision
  • Modifying character position or movement
  • Increasing attack or casting speed
  • Extending interaction, targeting, or spell range
  • Automated interrupting, dispelling, healing, targeting, or combat
  • Revealing hidden players, objects, resources, or information
  • Reading or manipulating game memory
  • Packet manipulation
  • Sending modified or fabricated packets
  • Bypassing server restrictions
  • Reaching normally inaccessible areas through client manipulation
  • Using external overlays that display information unavailable through an approved client

Attempting to test a cheat on Greyhaven is still considered cheating unless the test was specifically requested and supervised by Greyhaven staff.

Standard penalty: Permanent closure of all associated accounts.

2.2 Botting and Automated Gameplay

Any form of botting or unattended gameplay is prohibited. Players must personally control their characters and remain actively responsible for all meaningful gameplay actions performed through their accounts.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Combat, leveling, gathering, fishing, or PvP bots
  • Auction House sniper bots
  • Automated movement or pathing
  • Automated spell rotations
  • Anti-AFK programs
  • Scripts or macros that repeatedly perform gameplay without continued player input
  • Remaining logged in while software performs meaningful gameplay for you

Normal Auction House addons such as TSM, Auctionator, or similar interface and pricing addons are permitted, provided they do not independently purchase, cancel, relist, or manage auctions without player input.

A player must be able to respond reasonably when contacted or tested by a Game Master. Failing to respond does not automatically prove botting, but suspicious behaviour combined with failed staff checks may be used as evidence.

Briefly stepping away from the computer is not automatically an offence. Your character must not continue performing meaningful gameplay while unattended.

Penalty: Permanent closure of the offending account.

2.3 Multiboxing Assistance Tools

Input broadcasting, synchronized controls, and other multiboxing assistance tools are permitted only for:

  • Moving personally controlled characters directly towards a recognised capital city
  • Operating bank, profession, Auction House, trading, or service characters inside a recognised capital city
  • Preparing or positioning characters for an allowed summoning service

While travelling to a capital city, multiboxed characters may not:

  • Fight enemies or players
  • Gather resources
  • Complete quests
  • Farm items
  • Assist another character
  • Participate in PvP
  • Gain Honor
  • Gain experience through coordinated gameplay

The journey must be reasonably direct and may not be used as an excuse to perform normal multiboxed gameplay outside a capital city.

If attacked during the journey, the player must choose one character to actively control. Using synchronized inputs to fight with several characters remains prohibited.

Botting or unattended automation remains prohibited regardless of location.

Rule 3Multiboxing and Multiple Accounts

3.1 Definition

Multiboxing means one person simultaneously operating or benefiting from multiple logged-in characters, whether they are running:

  • On one computer
  • On multiple computers
  • Through virtual machines
  • Through remote desktop software

Simply owning several accounts is allowed. Playing them simultaneously is restricted as explained below.

3.2 What Is Allowed

Multiple characters may be logged in simultaneously when the additional characters remain inside a recognised faction capital city and are being used for non-combat purposes.

Permitted examples include:

  • Banking
  • Auction House use
  • Trading
  • Crafting
  • Enchanting
  • Managing mail
  • Organising guild resources
  • Providing profession services
  • Creating food or water inside the city

Recognised capital cities are:

Alliance

  • Stormwind
  • Ironforge
  • Darnassus

Horde

  • Orgrimmar
  • Undercity
  • Thunder Bluff

A player may, for example, level one character in the world while keeping a bank character logged in inside a recognised capital city.

3.3 What Is Not Allowed

This section applies specifically when one person operates multiple accounts or characters.

It does not prevent separate real players from questing, leveling, farming, running dungeons, raiding, or participating in PvP together. You may naturally play with your friends, family members, guildmates, or other players.

One person may not actively use multiple personally controlled characters outside the permitted capital-city and summoning exceptions.

Forbidden examples include:

  • Leveling two or more of your own characters together
  • Following your primary character with personally controlled alts
  • Farming with several personally controlled characters
  • Running dungeons with your own additional characters
  • Using several of your own characters in a raid
  • Using one of your own characters to heal, buff, or assist another in the world
  • Using several personally controlled characters to guard a farming location
  • Multiboxing in battlegrounds
  • Multiboxing in world PvP
  • Using multiple personally controlled characters to gain Honor to cheat the system
  • Using extra accounts to manipulate battleground queues
  • Using several personally controlled characters to repeatedly reset, tag, or farm enemies
  • Parking personally controlled characters outside cities to provide continuous buffs or other advantages
  • Using one faction to provide information to your own character on the opposing faction during PvP

If an additional personally controlled character leaves a capital city, it may only be used under the direct-travel or summoning exceptions. Otherwise, it must be logged out before meaningful gameplay continues.

Warlock Summoning Services

Using your own warlock and additional personal accounts exclusively to summon players is permitted.

Players may also advertise and sell summoning services for in-game gold.

Characters being used for a summoning service may:

  • Travel to the summoning location
  • Remain positioned at the summoning location
  • Create and assist with Ritual of Summoning
  • Accept agreed in-game gold payments

They may not be used together for farming, combat, PvP, questing, or other multiboxed gameplay.

Standard penalty: Warning or temporary suspension for minor first offences. Deliberate, repeated, competitive, or abusive multiboxing may result in permanent account closure.

Rule 4Modified Clients and Third-Party Software

4.1 Approved Clients

Players may use:

  • The official Greyhaven launcher — highly recommended. The launcher allows players to choose between supported clients, installs the full client when necessary, configures the correct Greyhaven connection automatically, and includes a built-in addon page that installs compatible addons directly for the selected client.
  • The standard 1.12.1 client
  • The 1.14.2 Classic client through Greyhaven’s supported proxy. The Greyhaven launcher can add the required Greyhaven connection and proxy configuration to an existing compatible 1.14.2 client.
  • Addons that operate through the normal addon API
  • Client features and modifications specifically distributed or approved by Greyhaven

Support for a client does not mean that every third-party modification made for that client is permitted.

4.2 Addons and Client Enhancements

Normal interface addons are generally allowed, including:

  • Unit frames
  • Damage meters
  • Threat meters
  • Raid frames
  • Boss warnings
  • Inventory management
  • Auction House interfaces
  • Quest tracking
  • Map improvements
  • Action-bar modifications
  • Profession interfaces

Any addon, client modification, patch, executable, or external tool that gives a player an unfair competitive or gameplay advantage over players using the normal supported client is prohibited.

Performance, stability, loading-time, or visual improvements that do not provide a gameplay advantage may be permitted.

For example, VanillaFixes may be used with the 1.12.1 client because its normal purpose is to improve performance, stability, loading behaviour, and graphical presentation rather than provide an unfair advantage.

An addon or client tool becomes prohibited when it performs actions or provides information that a normal player could not reasonably obtain through an approved client and its normal addon API.

Forbidden behaviour includes:

  • Automated combat decisions
  • Automated spell casting
  • Automated movement
  • Automated interrupting
  • Reading protected or hidden server information
  • Circumventing gameplay restrictions
  • Preventing normal AFK detection
  • Exploiting Lua errors or unlocked functions (unlockers)
  • Interacting with the game without individual player input
  • Providing information or responsiveness unavailable to normal supported clients
  • Automating purchases, sales, combat, or other gameplay activity

When uncertain about a specific addon, modification, or client enhancement, open a Discord ticket before using it.

4.3 Modified Client Files

Client modifications that are purely cosmetic or performance-related may be permitted, provided they offer no gameplay advantage.

Examples that may be allowed:

  • Higher-resolution textures
  • Cosmetic character models
  • Interface artwork
  • Sound replacements
  • Music replacements
  • Font changes
  • Performance and stability fixes such as VanillaFixes

The following modifications are forbidden:

  • Removing walls, doors, trees, terrain, water, fog, or environmental objects
  • Enlarging gathering nodes, flags, players, enemies, or interactable objects
  • Making hidden objects visible
  • Replacing models to improve targeting or visibility
  • Altering terrain to reach unintended locations
  • Changing collision
  • Modifying spell, animation, or cast information to gain an advantage
  • Removing visual effects specifically to improve competitive performance
  • Unlocking protected Lua functions
  • Injecting DLL files for cheating, automation, or gameplay manipulation
  • Memory editing
  • Modifications designed to evade anti-cheat detection

Greyhaven may publish an approved or disallowed modification list. That list forms part of these rules.

Rule 5Exploits, Bugs and Duplication

5.1 Exploiting

A bug becomes an exploit when a player knowingly uses unintended behaviour to gain an advantage.

Examples include:

  • Duplicating items, currency, Honor, reputation, or experience
  • Repeating rewards that should only be received once
  • Avoiding raid or dungeon mechanics through unintended behaviour
  • Pulling enemies without triggering intended encounters
  • Intentionally abusing boss resets to bug, disable, or trivialise an encounter
  • Attacking enemies from positions where they cannot respond
  • Entering closed or unreleased content
  • Skipping locked doors or progression requirements through unintended methods
  • Evading death, durability loss, cooldowns, or resource costs
  • Exploiting the Auction House through unintended behaviour
  • Creating impossible item combinations
  • Using mail, trade, guild banks, vendors, or auctions to duplicate value
  • Circumventing level caps or patch restrictions

Dying, releasing, and opening a door from the opposite side through normally accessible gameplay is allowed, such as opening the Scholomance door.

Listing an item with a low bid and a very high buyout in the hope that someone misreads the listing is not considered a technical exploit. However, staff may intervene and issue bans when a player deliberately uses misleading auction listings as a repeated money-making scheme. Gold lost by misreading an auction listing will not be returned, so players should always carefully inspect auction prices before purchasing.

Repeatedly using a bug after recognising that it is unintended may be punished even when the bug has not yet been publicly documented.

5.2 Reporting Exploits

Serious exploits must be reported privately by opening a ticket on the Greyhaven Discord.

Do not:

  • Publicly explain how to reproduce them
  • Demonstrate them to other players
  • Share them in public Discord channels
  • Record instructional videos showing the method
  • Use them repeatedly to gather additional proof
  • Transfer exploited gains to another account

Players who discover and responsibly report serious exploits may be recognised by the team.

Reporting an exploit does not protect someone who deliberately abused it before reporting it.

Standard penalty: Removal of gained items or progress, temporary suspension, or permanent closure depending on severity and intent.

Duplication, economy-damaging exploits, and deliberate concealment will normally result in permanent closure of the offending accounts.

Rule 6PvP Rules

Greyhaven is a PvP realm. World PvP, faction conflict, competition, ambushes, and fighting over objectives or resources are expected.

Being killed by another player is not automatically griefing.

6.1 Normal PvP That Is Allowed

The following are generally considered part of normal PvP gameplay:

  • Attacking opposing-faction players
  • Fighting over resources
  • Fighting over quest locations
  • Defending faction territory
  • Killing higher-level or lower-level players
  • Forming groups for world PvP
  • Retaliating against another player
  • Attacking players near towns or faction objectives
  • Ordinary corpse camping for a limited period
  • Using legitimate class abilities and terrain

Staff will not normally intervene simply because a player lost a PvP encounter or was killed multiple times.

6.2 PvP Griefing and Targeted Harassment

PvP may become punishable when its main purpose is clearly to prevent a particular player from being able to play rather than to participate in normal faction conflict.

Forbidden behaviour includes:

  • Following the same player across several zones solely to continue killing them
  • Using /who, opposing-faction accounts, Discord, streams, or external tools to repeatedly locate a specific target
  • Camping one player for an excessive period after they repeatedly attempt to leave
  • Organising continuous harassment of a specific individual
  • Rotating characters or groups to maintain uninterrupted harassment
  • Preventing a player from resurrecting or leaving an area for an unreasonable length of time
  • Continuing targeted harassment after clear staff instruction to stop
  • Using threats, personal information, or out-of-game intimidation alongside PvP
  • Attacking someone because they reported a rule violation

Staff will consider duration, intent, repetition, location, available escape options, and whether the attacker followed the victim to continue the behaviour.

6.3 NPC and Location Griefing

The activities below are generally only punishable when performed excessively, repeatedly, or for long enough that players are effectively prevented from progressing or playing. Ordinary faction attacks, town raids, occasional NPC kills, and normal PvP disruption remain allowed.

The following may become punishable when performed repeatedly or for an excessive duration:

  • Killing essential quest givers to block progression
  • Killing flight masters to trap players
  • Killing profession trainers or other essential service NPCs
  • Permanently blocking important quest objectives
  • Kiting dangerous enemies into low-level quest hubs
  • Dropping hostile controlled creatures on low-level players
  • Interfering with difficult or time-sensitive class quests
  • Killing a creature while a hunter is actively taming it solely to disrupt them — don’t be that guy
  • Intentionally dragging enemies into another player’s AoE to kill or flag them
  • Using collision, mounts, or large models to obstruct important NPCs
  • Repeatedly disrupting boats or zeppelins through fear, mind control, knockbacks, or similar abilities

Raiding faction cities and killing faction leaders remain legitimate gameplay.

These rules concern prolonged disruption whose main purpose is preventing others from playing.

6.4 Safespotting

Safespotting means attacking players or NPCs, carrying objectives, or avoiding retaliation from a position where opposing players, guards, or enemies cannot reasonably reach you through normal gameplay.

Forbidden examples include:

  • Attacking from inaccessible terrain
  • Standing inside geometry
  • Reaching positions through wall climbing or exploits
  • Attacking from behind invisible barriers
  • Using terrain where guards or enemies evade while you remain able to attack
  • Repeatedly exploiting pathing failures
  • Carrying or hiding the Warsong Gulch flag in an inaccessible or unintended location where opposing players cannot reasonably reach you

A position reached through ordinary jumping is not automatically legitimate. Consider whether the location was intended to be used for combat or objective play.

Rule 7Battlegrounds, Honor and Competitive Play

Players must participate honestly in battlegrounds and competitive systems.

The following are forbidden:

  • Win-trading
  • Intentionally allowing the opposing faction to win for rewards
  • Trading kills for Honor
  • Repeatedly killing cooperating characters for Honor
  • Queue manipulation
  • Queueing characters on both factions to influence the match
  • Deliberately declining queues to prevent matches from starting
  • Joining and remaining AFK
  • Moving occasionally only to avoid AFK removal
  • Refusing to participate while farming rewards
  • Sabotaging your own faction
  • Intentionally revealing teammate positions to the opposing faction
  • Coordinating battleground outcomes across factions
  • Exploiting map terrain or inaccessible locations
  • Manipulating weekly Honor standings
  • Sharing accounts to maintain continuous Honor farming
  • Using multiple personally controlled accounts in the same competitive system (multiboxing)

Organised PvP groups are allowed.

Cooperation becomes a violation when opposing participants deliberately coordinate to manufacture rewards, Honor, rankings, or match outcomes.

Standard penalty: Removal of Honor, ranks, or rewards, accompanied by a temporary or permanent suspension.

Rule 8Real-Money Trading and Commercial Activity

Greyhaven has a strict no-RMT and no-pay-to-win policy.

The following are forbidden:

  • Buying or selling gold for real money
  • Buying or selling items for real money
  • Buying or selling accounts
  • Buying or selling characters
  • Selling leveling services for real money
  • Selling dungeon, raid, PvP, profession, or summoning services for real money
  • Trading Greyhaven assets for cryptocurrency
  • Trading Greyhaven assets for services or assets on another game or server
  • Advertising gold-selling or account-selling websites
  • Acting as a middleman for prohibited transactions
  • Accepting real-world gifts in exchange for in-game value
  • Disguising RMT as a donation
  • Laundering purchased gold through guild banks, auctions, mail, casinos, GDKPs, or third parties

Both buyers and sellers are punishable.

Items, gold, characters, guilds, and accounts connected to RMT may be removed without compensation.

Standard penalty: Permanent closure of all participating accounts.

Rule 9Scamming, Trading, Casinos and Loot

9.1 Scamming

Deliberately deceiving another player to obtain items, gold, or services is forbidden where there is clear evidence of an agreed transaction.

Examples include:

  • Taking crafting materials without providing the agreed service
  • Changing the agreed price after receiving materials
  • Impersonating another player or guild
  • Misrepresenting an item or service
  • Cash-on-delivery mail scams
  • False middleman services
  • Loan scams
  • Raid reservation scams
  • Deliberately misleading players about loot rules
  • Using similar character names to impersonate someone

Staff may require clear screenshots or other evidence of the agreement.

Ordinary bad trades, buyer’s remorse, market speculation, and negotiating an unfavourable price are not automatically scams.

Casinos and Gambling

Player-run casinos, lotteries, death rolls, and similar gambling activities using in-game gold are allowed.

Participation is entirely at the player’s own risk.

Greyhaven staff will not:

  • Reimburse gambling losses
  • Recover gambling debts
  • Resolve casino disputes
  • Restore lost gold
  • Assist players who are scammed by a player-run casino

Real-money gambling or gambling involving external currency remains strictly prohibited.

9.2 Loot Rules

The default Greyhaven loot standard is Need Before Greed.

Under Need Before Greed:

  • A player may roll Need when they can equip and genuinely need the item for their character
  • This also applies to Bind-on-Equip items, even when the item is worth a large amount of gold
  • The market value of an item does not override a legitimate equipment need
  • Players who do not need the item for use should roll Greed or Pass

Groups are free to establish different rules, including:

  • Item reservations
  • Main-spec before off-spec
  • All-BoE Greed rules
  • Master Loot
  • Loot council
  • Class priority
  • Soft reserve systems

Any alternative rules must be clearly communicated and agreed upon before the run begins.

Players should take screenshot evidence of the agreed loot rules.

Without clear evidence that alternative rules were announced beforehand, Greyhaven staff cannot assist with the dispute and will treat the normal Need Before Greed standard as applicable.

Once a run has started under agreed alternative rules, those rules may not be changed without clear group consent.

9.3 GDKP

GDKP runs are allowed.

Only in-game gold may be used as payment or bidding currency.

Real money, cryptocurrency, services on another server, external items, or any other form of outside compensation are prohibited.

GDKPs are organised and controlled entirely by players.

Greyhaven staff will not:

  • Reimburse lost gold
  • Distribute an unpaid gold pot
  • Reverse bids
  • Recover items
  • Resolve disagreements over cuts
  • Assist when a host leaves with the gold
  • Guarantee the honesty of a GDKP organiser

By joining a GDKP, players accept that the host or appointed player controls Master Loot and the gold pot.

Participate only when you trust the organiser.

GDKP participation is entirely at the player’s own risk.

Greyhaven may still investigate a GDKP when there is evidence of:

  • Real-money trading
  • Exploitation
  • Duplication
  • Account theft
  • Organised laundering of prohibited funds

Rule 10Chat, Names and Community Conduct

Players may disagree, compete, joke, and engage in normal faction rivalry.

Communication must not become abusive, threatening, or excessively disruptive.

The following are forbidden:

  • Credible real-life threats
  • Doxxing or sharing another person’s private information
  • Racist or hateful attacks
  • Targeted sexual harassment
  • Encouraging self-harm
  • Repeated harassment after being ignored
  • Evading another player’s ignore list through alternate characters
  • Excessive spam
  • Gold-selling advertisements
  • Malicious links
  • Impersonating staff
  • Falsely claiming staff authority
  • Advertising cheats, bots, hacks, or RMT services
  • Advertising another private server without permission
  • Publicly sharing exploits
  • Organising rule violations

Public channel access is a privilege. Staff may mute or remove players who repeatedly disrupt public communication.

10.1 Naming Rules

Character, guild, pet, and account names may not contain:

  • Hate speech
  • Serious threats
  • Explicit sexual content
  • Staff impersonation
  • Names designed to mislead players
  • Cheat or RMT advertisements
  • Personal information belonging to another person
  • Deliberately offensive slurs

Staff may rename a character, pet, or guild without prior warning.

Repeatedly creating prohibited names may lead to additional penalties.

Rule 11Account Security and Responsibility

You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

This includes activity by:

  • Friends
  • Family members
  • Guildmates
  • Anyone who obtained your password
  • Anyone you voluntarily allowed to use the account

Greyhaven strongly recommends:

  • Using a unique password
  • Enabling Two-Factor Authentication when available
  • Never sharing account credentials
  • Avoiding untrusted client downloads
  • Verifying links before signing in
  • Keeping recovery information current

Account sharing is strongly discouraged.

Staff may refuse to restore losses caused by account sharing.

Claims that another person used the account will not automatically remove a punishment.

Account theft should be reported immediately.

Rule 12Suspensions, Mutes and Rejoining After a Permanent Ban

Attempting to evade an active temporary punishment is prohibited.

This includes attempting to bypass:

  • Temporary account suspensions
  • Chat mutes
  • Discord timeouts or temporary removals
  • Character restrictions
  • Account limitations
  • Staff instructions

Forbidden evasion methods include:

  • Creating another account to continue playing during a temporary suspension
  • Using another player’s account
  • Creating an alternate Discord account to bypass a mute or timeout
  • Using a VPN or proxy to avoid an active restriction
  • Transferring characters, items, or activity to another account to continue prohibited conduct

Starting Again After a Permanent Ban

A player whose account has been permanently closed is normally permitted to create a fresh account and start again from the beginning.

The permanently closed account, its characters, items, gold, and progress will not be restored or transferred.

The new account must fully follow all Greyhaven rules.

Repeating the original offence, attempting to recover banned assets, or continuing the same abusive activity may result in immediate permanent closure.

Only in extreme circumstances may Greyhaven issue a person-level exclusion, meaning the individual is no longer allowed to create or use any Greyhaven account.

This may be used in cases involving:

  • Severe repeated cheating
  • Serious threats
  • Attacks against Greyhaven services
  • Large-scale RMT
  • Severe harassment
  • Repeated refusal to follow the rules
  • Repeatedly returning only to continue harmful behaviour

Rule 13VPNs, Proxies and Shared Networks

Using a VPN is not automatically forbidden, but it may trigger additional security checks.

Players using VPNs, shared networks, gaming cafés, schools, workplaces, or household connections remain responsible for ensuring their own accounts follow the rules.

A shared IP address does not automatically prove that accounts belong to one person. IP addresses are only one part of Greyhaven’s detection process.

Players must not use VPNs or proxies to:

  • Evade temporary punishments
  • Create abusive accounts
  • Circumvent account limits
  • Hide botting or RMT activity
  • Interfere with security systems

Rule 14Interaction With Staff

Players must cooperate with reasonable Game Master checks.

You may be asked to:

  • Respond to a message
  • Stop moving
  • Perform a simple action
  • Explain suspicious behaviour
  • Provide information about your client
  • Discontinue use of a questionable addon
  • Leave an exploited or inaccessible location

Refusing to cooperate, intentionally disconnecting, or repeatedly avoiding staff may be considered when reviewing suspicious activity.

Players may not:

  • Impersonate staff
  • Threaten staff
  • Bribe staff
  • Falsify staff messages
  • Publicly harass staff or volunteers
  • Submit knowingly false reports
  • Spam tickets
  • Attempt to identify hidden staff characters
  • Publish private support discussions without permission

Constructive criticism is welcome. Abuse is not.

Rule 15Reporting Players

Reports should contain as much evidence as reasonably possible:

  • Character name
  • Date and approximate time
  • Location
  • Description of what happened
  • Screenshots or video
  • Relevant chat messages
  • Names of witnesses

Do not publicly accuse players of cheating, botting, or RMT.

Submit evidence privately so staff can investigate without alerting the suspected player.

False reports made in good faith will not be punished.

Knowingly fabricated reports may result in action against the reporter.

Staff will not normally disclose:

  • Detection methods
  • Private evidence
  • Associated accounts
  • Internal investigation details
  • The exact outcome of an investigation

Rule 16Penalties

Penalties depend on:

  • Severity
  • Intent
  • Damage caused
  • Previous violations
  • Cooperation
  • Attempts to conceal the activity
  • Whether multiple accounts were involved
  • Whether the economy or competitive integrity was affected

Possible actions include:

  • Verbal or written warning
  • Forced rename
  • Removal from public chat
  • Temporary mute
  • Removal of items, currency, Honor, reputation, or progress
  • Temporary account suspension
  • Permanent character closure
  • Permanent account closure
  • Closure of associated accounts
  • Discord removal
  • Network or hardware restrictions in severe cases
  • Person-level exclusion in extreme cases

Severe offences may skip all warning stages.

Cheating, botting, duplication, serious exploitation, RMT, and deliberate temporary-ban evasion may result in immediate permanent action.

Rule 17Appeals

Punishments may be appealed through the official Greyhaven Discord. To submit an appeal, join the Discord and create a support ticket for staff review.

An appeal should:

  • Be honest
  • Be submitted once
  • Explain relevant circumstances clearly
  • Include any evidence
  • Avoid threats or insults
  • Accept responsibility where appropriate

Submitting repeated appeals, lying, fabricating evidence, or organising others to harass staff may reduce the chance of reconsideration and may lead to further restrictions.

An appeal is a request for review, not a guarantee that a punishment will be changed.

Rule 18Final Principle

When uncertain, ask yourself:

Does this action provide an advantage through automation, modification, exploitation, deception, or control of multiple characters that an ordinary player would not have?

When the answer may be yes, stop and ask Greyhaven staff before continuing.

Our goal is not to punish normal players for honest mistakes.

These rules exist to protect fair gameplay, server stability, the economy, competitive integrity, and the long-term health of Greyhaven.

Rules last published August 2026. Significant changes will be announced publicly.
